Technical Notes:

I shot these photos using a Nikon D5000 and a zoom lens. Selected photos were shined up and exported as an origami photo slideshow using Aperture 3.

Next I created a simple harmony chord track with a few little twists using GarageBand 11 and an M-AUDIO KeyRig 49. I exported my audio creation at CD quality to generate an .aif file.

iMovie 11 was used to merge the Aperture 3 photo slideshow, GarageBand 11 .aif audio track, and a tri-thalmic binaural beat frequency, said to stimulate the third eye.

The red headphones are new.. I finally found a good stock image and purchased some reprint rights and I feel good about this — supporting artists and keeping copyright content legit. I’ll let you wonder how I made that video effect but will let you know it can be done using only iMovie 11 and Mac OSX Snow Leopard’s Preview program.

May you be blessed..

Technical Notes:

Shooting HD video in the dim lighting conditions of an indoor theatre can be challenging; fortunately the Panasonic AG-HMC150P HD video camera performs quite well at these kinds of venues as evidenced in this collection of HD video clips. We filmed these video sequences at 24 frames per second and discovered that iMovie ’11 is now capable of handling this frame rate — previously iMovie ’09 rejected 24 fps clips. The still photos in this video were shot using the Nikon D5000 under sunny conditions and shined up using Aperture 3.

This HD video is a collection of 50 select photos shot with a Nikon D5000 camera and telephoto lens. Aperture 3 was used to import and shine up the pictures and export the collection as a slideshow.

Story:

Craig Sims operated the still camera for this video shoot — a Nikon D5000. Selected photos were shined up a bit using Aperture v3.1.1. After adding a contact photo, a slideshow was created using Aperture again.. but how to add one video slide to the collection?

The answer to this was found via iMovie 11, which decreased the final video file size as well. One note of caution, do not choose to optimize the Aperture video when you import it into iMovie 11.. let it import as a raw copy and you’ll get the best quality on your final render.

CoverFlux is an interesting photo video generator with a limit of 25 photographs. The stills are displayed in alphabetical (usually numeric) order, which gave me the idea to create a strange little poem set to pictures of flowers. The music is a simple score I keyed up on my synth using GarageBand. Neat, eh?
