final cut express audio export

to my dismay and 199$ later, i was still unable to export sound from my own recorded video clips using final cut express. can’t do it from iMovie ’09 either. not even QuickTime — not directly to .wav or .aiff or anything useful like that

i was not very pleased to discover this

today, however, i discovered that if you export your audio only from final cut express to a .mov container, you can then drag and drop that audio.mov file into garageband’s loops editor where it displays and plays, with all the FCE audio filters intact

yay!

perhaps the focus will shift toward sound for a bit
