here were the settings for this clip:

1.) let the camera auto focus on still tripod
2.) set camera to manual mode
3.) set visual gain to +12 dB (high)

added about 33% to the saturation on edit

a discovery also:

auto mode sets the visual gain to +6 dB (medium) by default
