karma cruncher

a father chides
his little child
trades it back
her fading smile

and who knows why we do it
coding a generation
with our automatic behaviors
inherited from an icy past

a secret surge
regrooves the channel
a face lights up
and it doesn’t know why

lancing lightning
jagged jest the star struck skies
eyes as lamps
glimmering green

hovering silent
over rocky recharge peak
every joyful stream
sings to the valley below
