Technical note: looks like H.264 compression gets blocky at higher speeds.

Perfect White Christmas — Happy Holidays!!

Well it snowed last night and it looks like we got a white Christmas after all..

Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones =)

Technical Notes:

As Christmas morning began to warm up, the snow got heavier and started falling off the tree branches creating a mini secondary snow storm. I filmed this falling snow action for about ten minutes, sped it up 444% and tweaked with the colour phase throughout this video.

The Christmas lights are a small stock clip I purchased from Pond5 that apparently had an alpha channel but I ended up using an inverse Luma Key at 88% tolerance to make the original black matte transparent and bam — it works!

There’s a crown chakra binaural beat frequency thrumming under the main music track.. headphones work best if you want to explore it further.

Fire and Ice — the Story of Comet LoveJoy

In December of 2011 a large comet named LoveJoy plunged toward the Sun and certain destruction; however, the truth ended up being stranger than fiction and comet LoveJoy survived its close encounter with our fiery star..

The nature scenes of ice waterfalls from the Nelson BC Canada area in the Kootenays seemed to me an interesting parallel to the ice comet named LoveJoy.

The music is a mixture of Blue Rock Creek, a Euphoric binaural beat frequency and me banging away on some crystal bowls; try using headphones and see what happens to you.

How to Win Castle Wars 2 – a strategy guide

Here is a quick strategy guide on how to win Castle Wars 2:

HD Video and Original Music Soundtrack by Clinton Waller

The key to winning Castle Wars 2 is to dominate resource production and deny your opponent resources. This is done by playing resource production cards on your own castle, resource destructive cards on your enemy’s castle, and of course everyone’s favourite: The Thief. Another trick is to play with a small deck so that your favourite cards come up more often. I use a 77 card deck with great success.

The background audio was created by me.. it contains an electric guitar synth, some flowing water from a fresh mountain stream, and a binaural beat frequency intended to heal relationships.

Good luck and have fun!

ps.. I finally figured out how to adjust the tint over time and you can see this subtle effect in action on the watery background flowing behind the game panel.

Nelson BC Pedestrian Tunnel under Highway to Rosemont

This secret passage is also known as “the Tunnel”..

Get the Flash Player to see this content.

We all come to points in our lives where we find ourselves going through hard times. In the darkest hours, it can be hard to hold on to hope.. so this movie is dedicated to “the Light at the End of the Tunnel”. There’s a crown chakra binaural beat frequency in the audio soundtrack.. maybe it uplifts the thoughts?

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil” Psalm 23:4

ps.. this is my first self-hosted video and a significant technical milestone.

How to Worm Compost — a video guide

Here is a video guide on how to worm compost and create rich, black organic topsoil for your garden and house plants:

Gratitude to Gisto for introducing me to this random life moment and to every person who was there.

Back Story:

Gisto has been working on a new music video and we have been shooting video in and around Nelson for the past couple of months. Part of the music video plot involves some scenes from a soup kitchen and as we set up for the shoot we were treated to this live demonstration on worm composting. Luckily I was able to squeeze in a few good scenes and some interesting random moments from behind the audience.

ps.. the eggplant has mystery!
